Climbing Central Pillar of the Weeping Wall

Climbing Central Pillar of the Weeping Wall image

Ted has climbed all around the world. From the peaks of the French Alps, to the top of Kilimanjaro. One thing that he was missing was steep ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies. That is where Yamnuska came in. With a short New Years holiday from Maryland, Ted was able to squeeze in a day of ice climbing.

Steep and spectacular were the wish and the Central Pillar of the Weeping Wall was on the menu. With temperatures a frigid -27C we were counting on the sun to warm us. Unfortunately, the sun only appeared for a scant 20 minutes. Nonetheless we climbed on.

With cold toes and brittle ice we made our way to the top.

Thanks to Brent Peters, a fellow guide, for snapping some photos of us as he climbed the Right-hand Weeping Wall.
