Mountaineering, Climbing, and Skiing In The Canadian RockiesCommunity ENVIRONMENTWind Powered PCs The Pembina Institute, a not-for-profit environmental policy research and education organization, released its' "Wind Powered PCs" program on November 16, 2004. This initiative hopes to power 20,000 home and business computers with wind power. The institute estimates that if the goal of 20,000 computers is reached, an estimated 4,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced annually.

Climber's Access Society of Alberta (CASA) The Climber's Access Society of Alberta primary objective is to provide and preserve public access for climbers to the montane and alpine regions as well as related and surrounding wilderness of the Rocky Mountain Cordillera and Eastern Slope foothills of Alberta. Yamnuska Mountain Adventures is a provide supporter of this organization.

The Association of Bow Valley Climbers (TABVAR) The Association of Bow Valley Rock Climbers (TABVAR) is a not for profit organization, funded by donations, whose purpose is to promote the responsible development of safe rock climbing areas serving the Calgary, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise climbing communities. TABVAR provides funds for fixed anchors on routes and for "environmental" projects such as erosion protection measures at the base of cliffs.
