We are now into the first week of the Alberta relaunch strategy and are hopeful that the plan will strike the right balance of health, safety and continued enjoyment of the mountain world. Canmore is starting to come alive again and we have seen more activity in the past few days in both the town and surrounding mountains than we have been used to. It is great to see the value that we all place on being outside and active, as climbers, hikers, scramblers and mountaineers return to where they love. We are proud to be part of that experience for our guests.
On Tuesday, May 19, we relaunched our first-aid courses. Modifications have been made to the group size, approach to delivery and required personal protective equipment to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission to guests and instructors. We all need to be active participants in this plan.
Soon, Alberta Parks and National Parks will be open to commercial mountain and hiking guiding, and we anticipate a return to guiding and instructional programs in the next two weeks. As with our first-aid courses, we have produced policies and procedures for our programs to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
We will be approaching the situation with care and attention to everyone’s health and safety and we are looking forward to returning to the mountains as soon as possible with you.
Our office is open daily during business hours. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions about your upcoming program or one that you would like to book on.
