Famous Faces of Yamnuska

It’s 6:00am, and Yamnuska Director of Operations Dave Stark, Assistant Director of Operations Jesse de Montigny, and Guide Carl Johnston; along with office staff Jana Christison and myself are gathered at the Yam office bright and early, sorting out gear and clothing for a day out ice climbing.

But this isn’t a typical day of ice climbing for our group, today we are heading out with a film crew to Johnston Canyon for a photo shoot that is going to be used in a commercial to promote Ice Climbing in Alberta.  Dave, Jesse & Carl will be providing safety and guiding, while Jana & Tracey become models for the day.  But not to worry, the boys got there fair share of the spot light as well.

It’s a long day out, but thanks to a beautiful spring day, the temperatures are mild and we are more concerned about getting sun burn than frost bite.

You will have to keep your eyes out for our faces, you never know where in Alberta you will see our smiles light up for a day out on the ice.  It’s all in the name of adventure here in the Rockies, and getting more people involved in the sport of Ice Climbing.
