After a weekend of skiing and enjoying local hospitality in Lake Louise, CJAY 92’s popular daytime DJ Reaper and his family stopped by our office for their afternoon of ice climbing. Our senior guide Nick Sharpe set everyone up with gear then headed out to the ‘Junkyards’ for some expert instruction.
‘Everyone was a first time ice climber and they did great!’ said Nick. ‘The young guys set the standard that mom and dad had to match. Not to be outdone, Reaper put on a magnificent display of axe wielding enthusiasm making it look easy. I had a blast with them.’
Ice climbing is an amazing family activity for anyone in the Banff, Canmore or Lake Louise areas. We offer full and half day ‘learn to ice climb’ trips for that unforgettable Rockies activity. You don’t need to be an expert (leave that to us), we provide all the gear, and the way we run our family and group ice climbing programs puts safety first. All you have to do is enjoy your magnificent surroundings and watch your family or group do an activity that few people get to experience.
Anyone who has ever climbed in a gym or on outdoor rock will no doubt find ice climbing even more addictive. This winter, treat your family or group to the coolest sport in the Rockies!
