All of us at Yamnuska Mountain Adventures and Yamnuska Mountain Tours are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Jiro Kurihara after a climbing accident in Alaska on Mt Frances. Jiro was a passionate climber who loved the outdoors and our thoughts are with his family. He worked as a hiking guide and assistant rock guide for Yamnuska on his way through the mountain guiding certification process.
In addition to being a skilled climber he was a gifted photographer. His outgoing personality and big smile will be missed by every member of the climbing community. Our focus is on supporting his family and co-workers through this difficult time.
