A longtime client of Yamnuska recently went out for a day of ice mountain climbing with us. Here’s what he had to say…
‘What can I say about my climb with Brent on Sunday… Our original objective was RH Weeping Wall (WI5) but then Brent suggested Curtain Call (WI6). I have never done a WI6 climb but what better time to try one then with a Mountain Guide. My confidence was high based on some climbing I did the previous weekend so it seemed the timing was right. As we pulled off of Highway 93, Curtain Call looked intimidating but off we went to give it a try. As we approached the climb, I was reminded of why it was rated WI6. Sustained vertical with an overhanging feature (broken curtain). As I climbed, I kept telling myself to take it one step and one swing at a time. Look for good foot and tool placement. I was climbing very well. The curtain was an interesting puzzle to me that had to be done with a few technical moves. It was one of the most exhilarating climbs that I have done with a Mountain Guide. Hopefully, there are more climbs like this in my future. Thank you Brent for a fantastic day.’
