When the time is right to return to the mountains, we will be waiting for you. And we can hardly wait to get out and share adventures with you. This has been the most difficult time for all of us to navigate but as mountaineers, we are used to assessing the risk and waiting out the storm.
Trekking and climbing and mountain adventures are essential for our mental and physical health, but we are in extraordinary times and need to be patient. Safety has always been our top priority and it is critical that we move forward without putting our guests and staff at undue risk.
In the third week of March, we suspended our mountain activities as it was the right thing to do in such uncertain times. Our scheduled return of April 24 has now been extended to May 19. Any programs before that time have now been postponed or rescheduled.
If you are booked on a program:
We intend to be running First Aid programs after May 18th and instructional and guiding starting after May 31st, however, all will be dependant on guidelines from Alberta Health Services https://www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx and the opening of Alberta Provincial Parks and National Parks. We will contact you if your program is affected by closures or restrictions.
We are in the process of developing protocols for a safe return to programming. This will include guest health and travel questionnaires, systems for disinfecting gear and equipment, protocols for travelling to program areas, physical distancing and guidelines for overnight trips and food.
If you have any immediate questions about a program you are booked on please contact us at info@yamnuska.com
Booking adventures for this summer:
Summer programs and requests for private guiding are open for booking online or by email and phone. We will take payment details, reserve your spot on the program or private guiding request but will not process payment until we have confirmed that the program will run.
In the meantime, stay healthy and safe and we hope to see you soon.
