We are so happy to announce that K2 Skis and BCA have joined our incredible line of outdoor gear and clothing sponsors.
K2 is the original American Ski and Snowboard Brand, founded in 1962 in Washington State. The brand continued to pioneer by expanding into snowboards in 1987 and was the first brand to specifically engineer the product for women starting in 1999; the Women’s Alliance™. Today they are resetting the K2 brand for the future, one that builds on this legacy to reposition as the industry leader.
Backcountry Access (BCA) is a leading manufacturer of snow safety equipment, including Tracker transceivers, Float airbags, shovels, probes, and BC Link radios. Their mission is to save lives, not just sell products. They consider education to be just as important as the gear they make and that is why they back up all their products with consumer education and knowledgeable customer service. They are the most trusted name in the backcountry.
Starting this winter, Yamnuska Ski guides will be outfitted with a variety of K2 skis and putting them into action during our Backcountry Ski courses, Steep and Deep programs and Ski Mountaineering courses and traverses. We are very excited to partner with such a reputable and cutting-edge company.
Yamnuska will continue to use BCA’s Tracker transceivers during all our Avalanche Safety Training programs. “The BCA Tracker2™ Avalanche Transceiver offers the industry’s fastest, most precise pinpointing, with triple receive antenna, instantaneous real-time display, and easy-to-use interface.” We will also be testing the BCA TrackerS™ over the course of the winter.
Yamnuska is proud of the excellent partnerships that we have fostered over the years and we are sure that this affiliation with K2 Skis and BCA will complement the high standards that we are known for and enhance our guide and guest experiences in the mountains.
